Gayle Murphy, the business&#8217; sustainability consultant, will provide guidance in this.<\/li><li>An internal sustainability coordinator has been assigned to oversee the implementation of all initiatives and the proper recording of data.<\/li><li>20Twenty will receive training to learn about carbon foot printing as a way to track and document impact, enabling the creation of an annual tracking report.<\/li><li>The internal team, as well as visitors and clients, will continue to benefit from the most current techniques and solutions available through ongoing training on sustainability practices and current offerings in the sustainability area.<\/li><li>In order to start and inspire change throughout the value chain, this education and training will subsequently be expanded out into the supplier chain, among visitors, and among clients.<\/li><\/ul><h4>Local Communities<\/h4><ul><li>20Twenty wants to put an emphasis on aiding local communities by promoting local craftspeople and assisting local start-up businesses and artists in bringing their services to visitors. limiting the use of chain suppliers and, whenever possible, procuring goods and services locally.<\/li><li>The secondary focus is on minimizing effects on neighbourhood communities through collective activities and locations. prior to providing a service, taking into account the effects on the neighbourhood and involving the neighbourhood in the planning process. while offering the communities where it works the chance to directly profit from our economic activities, it respects them.<\/li><li>20Twenty retains the right to immediately end a contracted arrangement if it is determined that it will compromise the integrity of the community&#8217;s access to vital resources, vital services, a means of subsistence, and vital sites.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Internal Management: Social Policy &amp; Human Rights<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li>We are aware that our greatest resource for providing our customers with memorable travel experiences is our workforce. We therefore uphold a transparent human resource policy to guarantee: adherence to the law in all respects A pleasant, healthy, and secure workplace A fair contract must include fair terms for payment. taking part in the planning for sustainability inclusion and equal opportunity for all workers, especially in terms of pay, promotions, benefit distribution, and possibilities for professional development. We support professional development initiatives that are both job- and career-related. No matter their gender or sexual orientation, race, national origin, marital status, age, or religion, all of our workers and contractors will receive fair and equal pay for like work and for work of equivalent worth. This is a concept to which we are devoted.<\/li><li>We are dedicated to promoting a work environment and culture that is safe, healthy, and inclusive and in which all employees are able to accomplish their responsibilities and realize their potential. We are dedicated to having a zero-tolerance policy for any form of forced labour, human trafficking, or other violation of a child&#8217;s rights, as well as for acts of bribery, corruption, discrimination, and human rights. Additionally, we anticipate this dedication from all suppliers and partners. Each employee is free to speak their mind and join any union of their choosing.<\/li><li>When national law is insufficient, our company will abide by international standards like the two ILO Conventions, the Minimum Age Convention No. 138 and the Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention No. 182 in addition to the minimum age provisions of national labour laws and regulations. Additionally, we state that we only hire people who are at least 18 years old.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Overall Environment<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li>The use of different vehicle types will be a focus in terms of transportation, with an emphasis on using electric cars and vehicles whenever possible, alternative fuels, and taking trip lengths into account. Walking, bicycling, and other modes of transportation will be encouraged as the first choice.<\/li><li>Using sustainable solutions, such as sailing instead of motorized boating, will be a focus of marine-based activities.<\/li><li>Only glass bottles will be used for private events, and every customer will be provided with a reusable water bottle whenever and wherever it is practical. Together with this, efforts will be made to limit the usage of single-use plastic bottles at events whenever possible.<\/li><li>The behaviour in the offices will be governed by an internal sustainability policy that will provide instructions on how to handle materials and systems in the most effective manner, including carbon awareness, trash reduction and management, and plastic reduction.<\/li><li>Digital alternatives will be used both inside the office and on the job site, reducing the overall consumption of paper. Customers will receive tickets and tour details electronically or through apps, and custom signage will be made for each tourism season.<\/li><li>Every year, carbon footprints will be tracked. First, efforts will be made to invest in training and education, and solutions to offset will be looked into.<\/li><li>Group events will be approached differently, and groups will be split up and held in various areas to minimize the impact on tourism.<\/li><li>Programs and event schedules will be created taking into account environmental consequences, giving local events and venues priority where possible.<\/li><li>More plants in the office will promote a healthier and wellness-focused environment within the office.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Procurement Practices &amp; Supplier Assessment \/ Local Communities\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li>Local, seasonal, fresh food will be used to create menus and caterer selections, including fruit, vegetables, fish, poultry, and meat.<\/li><li>Locally supplied products will be given preference throughout the whole procurement process, favouring smaller, more established companies over global corporations whenever possible.<\/li><li>Principals will be asked to support large project proposals to our local communities, giving back to the local communities through our contacts. \u2022 Choose lodging and hotels that are &#8220;green&#8221; as a priority, that have their own sustainability policies, and are close to the activity (e.g., port, conference centre). The supplier chain will be encouraged to follow suit by 20Twenty.<\/li><li>20Twenty partners with locally owned and run businesses, with a focus on small businesses, in order to support the economic growth and local prosperity of the destination.<\/li><li>Overall supplier evaluations will take place, and a preferred supplier list will be developed based on the sustainability\u2014both socially and environmentally\u2014and values\u2014of each supplier. GSTC-recognized partners and suppliers would be given preference. Yearly contributions will be made to deserving neighbourhood organizations like Inspire.<\/li><li>20Twenty will work to make sure that all suppliers abide by Maltese law, which makes underage labour and sexual exploitation illegal.<\/li><li>The provider denounces the exploitation of kids at the locations and amenities of subcontracted lodging. If the supplier fails to take reasonable steps to prevent and\/or end the sexual exploitation of children within the direct supply chain, 20Twenty will terminate the contract (e.g., accommodations and excursions).<\/li><li>The company neither directly nor indirectly contracts with facilities that use forced labour or that use youngsters to carry out tasks that are typically done by adults. In compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and\/or the ILO convention 138, there are particular working hours and conditions for minors (under 14) employed by the company. The contract with the lodging makes reference to these terms.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Market presence &amp; Marketing communications<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li>20Twenty will start communicating with the outside world about the intention to start lowering impacts and the fact that they are actively pursuing sustainability with a comprehensive strategy and policy. This will be utilized as a tool to spark market change and inspire others to follow suit.<\/li><li>20Twenty will encourage carbon awareness and carbon offsetting as part of quotations while collaborating with clients.<\/li><li>The Travelife certification procedure will begin in 2022 and be completed in stages. This will convey 20Twenty&#8217;s standing as a sustainable business that treats learning and advancement carefully and methodically.<\/li><li>A social media presence will start, especially on cruising-related portals, to raise awareness of being a sustainable business and providing sustainable excursions and experiences.<\/li><li>20Twenty will monitor what their principals are doing in terms of sustainability and carbon footprint, and they will join or contribute to the same efforts in order to have a positive impact and forge closer ties with their principals.<\/li><\/ul><h4><strong>Products &amp; Services<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li>Impacts on systems will be evaluated. Before boarding the coaches, passengers will use a new ticketing system that will be introduced using a ticket application.<\/li><li>20Twenty pledges to be picky when supplying goods or services, making sure that their vendors share their ideals.<\/li><li>As a stand-alone sustainability effort, 20Twenty has created a new product called the &#8220;Picnic Pallet.&#8221; This handcrafted, upcycled picnic table and chairs were made for eco-friendly picnics in the great outdoors (like Ponant has for 2023 in Gozo).<\/li><li>By offering more &#8220;Dining in Amazing Places,&#8221; 20Twenty hopes to encourage a sense of connectedness with the natural world.<\/li><li>20Twenty will start providing its customers with the new activity known as &#8220;Recycling &amp; Upcycling Workshops&#8221; and will keep developing new sustainable activities that inform and motivate visitors to live responsibly.<\/li><li>By collaborating more with regional NGOs like FoE, Birdlife, Nature Trust, and non-NGOs as Dreams of Horses in Gozo, service and product possibilities will be improved. This would ensure that local organizations actually profit from tourism while also producing an unique variety of activities for customers.<\/li><li>Only in the context of a regulated activity that guarantees their sustainable use and complies with local, national, and international legislation are wildlife species harvested, consumed, displayed, sold, or exchanged. The supplier does not market foods or mementos that include endangered plant and animal species as listed on the IUCN &#8220;Red List&#8221; and the CITES convention. The company maintains the right to sever the agreement without giving prior notice if any evidence of this type of criminal activity is discovered.<\/li><li>Excursions and attractions that hold wildlife in captivity are not available, with the exception of those that are adequately regulated and adhere to all applicable local, national, and international laws. Excursions that involve interactions with animals adhere to the appropriate norms of conduct. \u2022 We do not permit the purchase of souvenirs including endangered plant and animal species, any illegally procured historic or archaeological artifacts, or drugs or illegal substances, and we follow by local and international regulations in place to prevent this.<\/li><li>Excursions that adhere to controlled sustainability criteria are preferred, especially those that show sensitivity to regional customs, animal welfare, and the environment. Contractual businesses don&#8217;t provide goods or services that are harmful to people, animals, plants, or natural resources (such water or energy), or that are socially or culturally inappropriate. Its goods and services assist regional economies and offer local workers a fair and just workplace, among other economic advantages. Except for appropriately regulated activities carried out in accordance with local, national, and international law, the contracted company does not provide activities involving the holding of captive wildlife. Excursions that involve interactions with animals adhere to all applicable norms of conduct.
